Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
Acquired brain injury (ABI) includes traumatic brain injuries (TBI's). An acquired brain injury is damage to the brain that was not present at birth and is non. ABI does not include what are classified as degenerative brain conditions such as Alzheimer's Disease or Parkinson's Disease. It can result from a stroke, brain trauma, infection to the brain, encephalitis, brain tumor, or lack of oxygen. The leading causes of traumatic brain injury are falls, motor accidents and assaults.physicallong term disabilities. So, ABI services are for Mass Health participants who have ABI and are able to live in their own home, or apartment or to the home of someone else. Victory Human Services offers a wide range of assistance to meet specific needs. We can help determine the person eligibility for directed and managed services that allow the greater degree of choice and intention.
The every brain injury is different, but survivors may experience emotional progressive and program provides opportunities for an adult companion, day service, individual support, community rehab, and short-term respite services.
